We are up and operating! The Athabasca Regional Development Committee has identified insufficient housing and the lack of affordable housing as the two major obstacles to healthy economic development in the greater Athabasca area. This website is designed to help alleviate this obstacle.
A shortage of housing not only means a shortage of workers for our business community, but also low enrolment in our schools and under usage of our hospital, recreational facilities, etc. Under usages translates into under funded and, in many cases, closure of facilities needed in our community. Oversupply of housing is not good either. Some people simply want a bed and a toilet, others want a mansion. We hope this website will help everyone find what they are looking for and help landlords and home builders determine what is needed in our community.
